Mark Mattson is a lawyer and public-interest advocate with more than 30 years of experience. His work has centred on turning complex issues into practical outcomes across government, communities and organizations.
He founded Swim Drink Fish Canada, a national organization focused on clean water and public access, and has spent his career on civic advocacy and community-oriented initiatives.
Wolfe Island
Mark’s connection to Wolfe Island spans generations, with family connections reaching back to the nineteenth century.
After years of maintaining close ties to the island, he has made Wolfe Island his permanent home.
Why Council
Mark sees municipal government as the level of government closest to residents, the place where practical decisions most directly shape everyday life.
He wants to bring his experience navigating institutions, building partnerships and advocating for the public interest to Frontenac Islands Council.
